"Very nice beach with helpful staff" 3.5/5
My friend and I were on the Carnival Paradise, and one of the stops was the lovely island of Grand Cayman. We both love walking for miles on a long beach, and since she had no interest in swimming with the stingrays, we opted to spend our brief stay at the beach. We got in a taxi at the port, and asked to be taken to 7 Mile Beach...and we would figure out from there where we would like to camp out for the day. Although you have many options, I would recommend spending the day here at Tiki Beach. They have storage lockers for $10, chair rentals for $30, and the staff will get you set up with whatever cocktails you need. "Flex" was a nice guy who really hustled...he always made sure our drinks were replenished...I was drinking Mojitos, which although were not cheap at $13.00 US, they were not unreasonable since Grand Cayman is not known for bargain prices. The lunch and dinner menus looked pretty good, although we didn't eat there. A brief but sudden downpour occurred, but there were plenty of places to take shelter here if you didn't feel like getting wet. The beach is beautiful and clean. Even though it was rather crowded with cruise ship passengers, we still enjoyed ourselves. This establishment seems to bit nicer than the rest of the beach bars in the area. Give it a try.
"Late night eats & drinks on the beach" 4/5
We had drinks and apps around 8 pm midweek and the place was nearly empty. That was actually perfect for us because it was "date night" for us as we were traveling w/ my boyfriend's parents. We sat right on the edge overlooking the beach and it was amazing. Just hearing the ocean makes anything terrific in my book. Our apps were good and the drinks as well. The decor is totally polynesian and tropical, lots of dark bamboo wood and wispy sheer white fabric blowing in the breeze. I loved it and planned to go back, but never made it. We will definitely go back next trip.
You've just hit the beach and you hear music carried by the gentle ocean breeze. Follow it down and you've found your Caribbean paradise at brand new ocean side restaurant and bar, Tiki Beach.
Featuring classic Tropical Island Grill cuisine and signature drinks from all over the Caribbean, relax and enjoy the island state of mind by the water's edge or in on of our private Cabanas. Or if you are feeling adventurous, you can take advantage of our watersport and beach recreation facilities.
